Booking with AFerry was straightforward enough and at the right price. When we arrived at the Eurotunnel terminus at Folkestone the unmanned system recognised us correctly. Thereafter the signposting was unclear and we found ourselves in a 'flexiplus' mechanised barrier system that didn't recognise us. Nor was there any response to pressing the buzzer for assistance. After reversing out of the 'flexiplus' line we stumbled across the correct one. After that it was exactly as you would expect from Eurotunnel - swift and soulless. 7.4
We arrived too late for our reserved crossing due to hold-ups on the roads. Checking in was no problem. We were put on the next available crossing, 50 mins later and were not charged anything extra for having to change to a new crossing time. We left Folkestone on time. Smooth rapid crossing and getting out of the terminal at Calais could not be easier. 8.6
We recently visited England to visit our family. We were offered and accepted in both directions travel one hour earlier than our booking at no extra charge. Checking in was quick and simple. The trains were on time. What more can one ask? 5.8
Having got up extremely early to be on time the check in and immigration queues were enormous. Granted it's a holiday period but thought needs to be given on how to improve the flow. We waited over an hour to get to the boarding lanes for what normally takes less than five minutes. |
