Paros Ferry Port Overview
Paros Ferry Port is known as the main transportation hub of the Cyclades islands; many ferries stop in Paros Ferry Port en route to other islands making Paros an ideal base for exploring the area.
The main town of Paros is Parakia, which is home to the island's main port. Parakia is home to traditional whitewash houses with blue doors and shutters which gives the town a picturesque, traditional feel. The remains of a medieval castle can be seen beside the sea, and the Ekatontapiliani church has roots dating back to around the 4th century B.C.
Paros has many beautiful beaches, and is also known for its lively nightlife. There are also many pleasant towns and quiet villages on the island; the villages of Dragoulas, Mármara and Tsipidos on the east of the island are known for their beauty and history. Paros is also known for its marble, which was exported and used by many of the great Greek sculptors.
