Portsmouth - commonly nicknamed `Pompey' - is a city located in the county of Hampshire on the southern coast of England.
Portsmouth Ferry Port was a significant naval port for centuries and is home to the world's oldest dry dock still in use as well as many famous ships, like Nelson's flagship HMS Victory, the Mary Rose, HMS Warrior (which was Britain's first iron-clad steamship).
If you catch a ferry from Portsmouth make sure you pay a visit to the Royal Naval Museum, the museum of the history of the Royal Navy. Other tourist attractions include the house of Charles Dickens, the Blue Reef Aquarium and the famous Spinnaker Tower at Gunwharf Quays, a 552 feet-tall tower which features viewing decks at sea level.
Portsmouth Ferry Port is UK's 2nd busiest harbour, offering both passenger & freight services. From Portsmouth Ferry Port you can catch a ferry to Spain, France and the Isle of Wight.

- Portsmouth Ferry Port has an Information Desk which is open every day, a Bar & Cafe, Cash Point, Newsagent & Gift Shop, Bureau de Change, Baby Care Room, Payphones, left luggage facility, Photo Booth and Public Fax.
- The nearest petrol station is the Shell Petrol Station & Shop in Kettering Terrace near the entrance of the Continental Ferry Terminal.
- At Portsmouth Ferry Port there are disabled toilet facilities & low level pay phones. Assistance is available for passengers with special needs, arrangements for which should be made when booking or checking in.
- The new multi-storey car park is located only a few meters from the main ferry terminal. It is well lit, secure and open 24 hours a day.
PORTSMOUTH FERRY PORT DIRECTIONS
By Car
Exit M27 at J12 & follow M275 to Portsmouth. At the Rudmore Roundabout turn right & follow signs to Ferries; Portsmouth Ferry Port is straight ahead.
For the Isle of Wight Passenger & Car Ferry Terminals follow the M275 into Portsmouth Town Centre & then follow signs to Ferries.
By Coach
There are direct coach connections to and from London, Gatwick, Heathrow and other parts of the UK that will drop you right at the ferry terminal building.
By Rail
Portsmouth has 2 train stations with services from both London Victoria & Waterloo Stations. There are fast train services to London up to 3 times an hour, and new direct rail links to the North too. Portsmouth and Southsea train station is a short bus ride from the port but services are frequent and pretty reliable.
