Sardinia Guide
The Italian island of Sardinia is the second largest island in the Mediterranean Sea and can be found just south of the French island of Corsica, off the south coast of France and the west coast of Italy. To the south of Sardinia you can find Tunisia, and to the west the Spanish Balearic Islands.
Sardinia has been inhabited for thousands of years; human remains have been found on the island dating back to around 250,000 B.C. Sardinia has a mountainous terrain; the highest point on Sardinia is the mountain of Gennargentu, which is 6,016 feet high. The island benefits from a Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and mild winters that attract tourists all year round.
Sardinia appeals to visitors from all over the world, with its famous wines, gastronomy and fantastic landscapes as well as its numerous sandy beaches, picturesque coastal resorts and archaeological ruins.
