Toulon Ferry Port Overview
The large port of Toulon is a military port and the Mediterranean base of the French navy but it is also a marina for private boats and ferries to Corsica and Sardinia.
Toulon is a fascinating town with a beautiful harbour and the Mont Faron in the background. Cable cars are available to the Mont Faron, for fantastic panoramic views, and to the zoo. The old town is a pedestrian area with ancient fountains, squares, daily market, terrace cafes and a strong Provençal feel. Toulon boasts atmospheric medieval streets, a lively food culture influenced by a large North African community and beautiful sandy beaches.
Toulon offers a wide variety of historic sites, activities and excursions such as Music Festivals, the Contemporary Art Museum, the Naval Museum and the Cathedral. Ste. Sanary sur Mer, Le Pradet and la Valette du Var are three pretty villages around Toulon worth visiting.
