Danish Vacation

We were going to Helsinore from Als and taking the ferry was so easy, instead of driving all the way - I'd highly recommend it.

Short Pleasant Trip

This is quite a short trip. Takes about an hour at sea. Almost everybody spoke English which was a relief! Lots of seating. A nice view as we came into port. All together a pleasant and relaxing journey that was all part of a wonderful enjoyable European honeymoon.

Alstrafikken ferries have recently been rebranded as AlsFærgen. AlsFærgen, which is also commonly spelt AlsFaergen, is the new name of the Danish ferry company Alstrafikken.

On board AlsFærgen ferries

AlsFærgen currently operates one vessel between Bojden and Fynshav, the M/V Thor Sydfyen. On board facilities on this modern well equipped ferry include a bistro restaurant/cafe which sells freshly made Smorrebrod (Danish open sandwiches), snacks and hot and cold drinks. There are also a number of play areas for children inside and outside.

Outside on the sun deck you can enjoy a view overlooking the South Funen Archipelago and if you are lucky, you might be able to spot both whales and porpoises on your journey.
