    Disappointed
    • Dover to Calais with P&O Ferries

Both trips checked in early, parked with no queues beside us, only to be left waiting to board and watch the then full lanes around us all go on before. Last on so no seats left, which on return journey, after driving for 12 hours would have been nice to sit comfortably, eat the food we had prepared to avoid the huge lines in the food hall, and rest before the next 3 hour stint of driving. The return was made worse with the added stress of a useless system ... cars not directed between check-ins and border controls so a free for all, resulting in what looked like a pile up as everyone tried to get to their relevant ferry and having to criss-cross between queues. Perhaps on approach to the port if traffic already filtered to appropriate carrier this would be easily avoided. For £30 extra should have booked the tunnel, sat in my more comfortable car for half an hour, reduced my journey time and not have contended with the chaos at Calais. Lesson learned ... the hard way, never again.
