We had booked in for ferry at 8pm, arrived much earlier to avoid trouble at 6pm and you had huge cues and your system broke down-we had waited with our little children 7 hours in a car!!!!! It was awful experience to wait such long time, we did go on the ferry at 2am!! Ridicilous!!! If I would know waiting time will be that long I would cancel my booking and choose tunnel. We were to tired to continue journey after ferry and had to make another break for sleep which has delayed our arrival to Poland. DONT Book so many clients if you cant serve them quickly. Awful thing to let wait 7 hours for little children. I am very upset.

    Smooth transfer
    • Dunkerque to Dover with DFDS Seaways

Although the ferries on this route are not as frequent as the Calais Dover route, travelling from Dunkerque involves less hassle and the boat is quieter. Be prepared for a very slow exit from the port on the French side though. The roads to the port are inadequate for the rush of traffic when a ferry disembarks.

7.5 hour wait to check in
    • Dover to Dunkerque with DFDS Seaways

Made my trip so tiring, especially for my kids. Toilet facilities were terrible. they gave us On-board food vouchers but they were unable to handle the number of passengers with those vouchers so the queues were a mile long. Never again.

    • Dover to Dunkerque with DFDS Seaways

Online booking was easy. Both outward and return legs were on time . We arrived early for return leg and were given a place on an earlier ferry . Staff were friendly and helpful Comfortable trip. Would have liked onboard wifi to have enough capacity to cope with demand. Managed to log in when i first boarded and had access for a short time but it became useless once more people tried to use it !
