Southsea to Ryde with Hovertravel
Isle of Wight is a great place to visit for the kids and dog. We parked our car at the harbour for 10 pounds for 24 hours, and hopped on the hovercraft. We had booked a later departure, but they were happy to board us on the next available. 10 minutes to Ryde and a short walk to a pristine sandy beach, where you can take your dog on the beach in a designated area. The needles is a sight to see by taking the bus for just 20 pounds for the whole family, hop on and off at places of your choice. A great spring day just 2 hours from south London.

We were a little disappointed that you could not see out of the windows. The children had been looking forward to that. Unfortunately, it was impossible to see out of the windows and wonder if there could be some sort of window wipers fitted to enjoy this experience more.

The organisation of our travel going to Ryde was terrible. We had to wait an hour and a half over our travel time. In total we were waiting 2 hours to get a hover over to Ryde. There was limited communication with my group and staff in how long it would take and why it was taking so long, which resulted in us arriving behind schedule to Ryde. The return journey was satisfactory only because we decided to get an earlier ferry. However, it did seem better organised.
