Cork to Swansea with fastnet Line
This ferry is extremely convenient for visitors from the UK to the Cork and Kerry region, cutting out miles of driving. Arrival in Swansea is also useful for good motorway access in the UK. Everything on our trip was well-organised, comfortable and clean, with hard-working staff offering help on the ship. Don't miss the views of Cork harbour. The ferry is also essential for the West Cork economy and for the many residents who make regular visits to England all year round.
Swansea to Cork with fastnet Line
Particularly impressed by the quality of service and food in the Fastnet Restaurant. The trip both ways was smooth and enjoyable, only the Swansea-Cork run was 2 hours late getting to its destination (head wind blamed for this). Slight quibble with the charging rates as I found that having booked months in advance believing to secure a good deal I could have saved money on the on-line fare if I had booked much later.
Cork to Swansea with fastnet Line
Our journey was booked to depart at 8pm from Cork, and dock at 7am in Swansea. We left Cork way after 8pm, it may even have been an hour. We didn't dock at Swansea until 9.30am, "due to unusually low tides". As tide tables are available for at least a year in advance, it would have been much more thoughtful for Fastnet Line to have arranged different times for the journey, to board later, leave later and dock later. Our day ran considerably later than planned, making it much more difficult. The good bit was the wonderful food in the restaurant, with vegetarian and gluten free meals available, and at a very reasonable price.
