Have made a comparable trip some thirty times and the present system is the best so far.

loading was very quick our overnight cabin was clean the food satisfactory crossing was a bit to long but was due to weather. Return journy was very smooth and I got some nice pictures of the sunset as we left Ireland

I can't believe it's taken me all these years to discover the benefits of travelling to ireland overnight and sleeping on the boat - usually my journey has to involve an overnight stay - so just for that fact alone, I'll be using the Swansea- Cork ferry in the future. But also i was surprised by the atmosphere, accommodation, the A La Carte restaurant and most of all by the setting - leaving Ireland by such a beautiful route, sailing down those channels out of Cork - was like being on a mini cruise - I'm used to the madness of the 'roll on roll off' ferries. The sea was calm - not even was there a slight rocking and I'm sure when the sea is rough it's a whole different story but even so i will be using the Fastnet Ferry from now on.
