Patras to Ancona with Minoan Lines
Travelled on Minoans Cruise Olympia because booked Anek-Superfast had been cancelled. The Cruise Olympia must be one of the most pathetic ships running this route. The whole ship albeit new has been designed without any idea of how a modern ferry should look. It looks like a troopship which has been pimped with some mirrors. No carpets, no paintings, tasteless fabrics everywhere. The a la carte restaurant above the stern where you can feel every rudder movement made by the autopilot. Same menu in a la carte and self service restaurant, food was ok but rather pricey. Standard cabins resemble a prison cell, luxe cabins are like one star Ibis hotel rooms. Staff bored, eager to close restaurants as quickly as possible. Noisy aircon set at 100% on a chilly April passage. Dirty pet kennels. The car garage is spacious though and they have a "casino" with slot machines and a "spa". But who cares for that on a 23 hour trip? Deck layout is also on the cheap side, way too little areas to sit down outside and enjoy a summer trip. Travelled same route multiple times with Anek which is far superior at better rates. Avoid at all cost.
Venice to Igoumenitsa with Minoan Lines
Warmly recommending it. Very candid and helpful personnel. Spacious, comfortable and well equipped cabins. Adequate entertainment and leisure section. A bit overpriced food, not so big choice and not perfectly cooked. In general very positive and pleasant journey.
