Helsinki to Stockholm with Tallink Silja
We enjoyed the trip for the most part. However, the smoking on the the outer deck was awful. There needs to be an area on the outer deck, for non- smokers to go to enjoy the view and weather outside. There were many people that seemed to be unhappy with the smoking as well. Smokers and non- smokers deserve the right to their own space, while they are on deck.
Tallinn to Helsinki with Tallink Silja
There needs to be one side of your outer deck that needs to be smoke free. As much as smokers need to have an area to smoke, we need an area that is smoke free, that we can also enjoy to scenery. I noticed that there were other people that were not happy with the smoking, and not being able to get away from it.
Tallinn to Helsinki with Tallink Silja
We went from Tallinn to Helsinki on the SuperStar and returned to Tallinn on the Star. The SuperStar is an amazing ship with all the amenities: more than one could take in on a two-hour fast ferry. The Star, an older ship, is also entirely adequate. Both ships had outstanding restaurants for elegant lunches and various inexpensive dining/snacking options. The ships sail quickly but very smoothly. Exiting the ships is handled expeditiously, but queuing up for entry is tedious, lengthy and, on a hot day, can be stifling. It is far cheaper to purchase the trip directly with the ferry company (Tallink/Silja), but aferry provided good and efficient booking service with which I felt completely comfortable.
