Kissamos is a beautiful town located on the northwest coast of Crete and about 26 miles west of Chania. The town of Kissamos is situated on the same site where the ancient city of Kissamos used to stand. It is built like an amphitheatre rising up on the Western side of the Gulf of Kissamos.

Kissamos is an excellent place to start your exploration of the archaeological sites of Falasarna, Polirrinia, the islands of Gramvoussa, the fantastic gorges of Sirikari, Rokka and Topolia, the overlooking cave of St. Sophie (Agia Sofia) and the Balos Lagoon.
Kissamos is considered the entry point for the Peloponnese and Italy (over the Adriatic Sea). Kissamos Ferry Port links Crete to the closeby island of Kythira, Kalamata, Gythion and Piraeus.
Kissamos has various types of accomodation to offer, including campsites. There are many taverns and bars to choose from in Kissamos. There also are regular buses linking Kissamos and Chania.
Kissamos is surrounded by a beautiful landscape with quiet beaches with golden soft sands mixed with pebbles.
