Say the word Morocco and you will often be greeted with a series of blank looks and puzzled expressions. Mention, however, the city of Casablanca, and you will be rewarded with nostalgic smiles as minds are cast back to one of the nation's favourite film. The mention of Marrakesh will remind people of exotic markets tinged with the sights and smells of the Arab world. The port of Tangier will remind people of the long queue of famous people who flocked to get a bit of the charm of this African nation, from Churchill to Jimmy Hendrix.
As you can see, Morocco is the place to go!
Trains are probably the best way to travel. They are fast (though this is a relative term), clean, comfortable and cheap - though not useful if, for some reason, you should want to go and visit a little village in the middle of no-where. A useful middle ground is to take a luxury coach, which connects place both large and small.
If you are really tempted with the spirit of adventure, you could try taking a local bus. However, it is suggested that you might not want to take this if you are in any way in a hurry: they will stop anywhere and everywhere. It is also suggested that you try not to look too much like a Westerner (at the very least this means wearing modest clothing) if you want to avoid attracting too much attention from over friendly locals.

Cars are also a great way of seeing the country, though make sure to plan ahead: there's nothing worse than getting stranded miles away from the nearest petrol station, especially in a country where 35 centigrade is considered `mild'. Also drive with caution but confidently. Moroccans have a unique way of interpreting the rules of the road.
There are more tours in Morocco than you could shake a stick at. Tours include everything from trips out into the desert to tours of ancient Moorish buildings which are adorned with colourful tiles. The markets of Morocco are also worth a visit. It is expected that you haggle a wee bit for goods (the original asking price may be anything up to 50 times the actual expected price of any item). This is obviously fantastic news for any wannabe Apprentice candidates who are planning their holidays.

Hammams are social steam baths that can be found throughout the country. They are considered by many to be an essential part of a trip to Morocco. Most Hammams are single sex. One thing to be aware of is that massages can be very intrusive by Western: relax and breathe deep. They are just massages and there is no expectation of anything else.
