Abbey Theatre hosts An Ideal Husband | | | | 15 August 2008 | Theatre fans may be interested in catching a Dublin ferry over the coming months to see the Abbey Theatre's presentation of Oscar Wilde's play An Ideal Husband.
This production opened on August 14th and will be showing until September 27th.
It tells the story of Sir Robert Chiltern, an up-and-coming politician who seemingly has everything a good reputation, a reliable income, a loyal wife but he also has a secret that is at odds with his public image.
Written by a man who knew more than most about leading a double life, An Ideal Husband is full of Wilde's sharp wit and social commentary.
The Abbey Theatre, which visitors can find on Lower Abbey Street, will host a number of plays before the end of the year, including A Midsummer Night's Dream, Delirium and Happy Days.
Ferry crossings to Dublin are provided by companies including Stena Line, Norfolkline and Irish Ferries. |
