Aferry.co.uk has added some new features to its Find a Ferry iPhone app, which is designed to help users plan sea journeys from the UK.
Travellers looking for
ferries to France can now use the high-tech tool to search for arrival and departure times at their nearest port.
The free application has also been given a new look that makes it more user-friendly and easier to navigate.
Currently available for services to France, the app is set to be extended to cover other routes from the UK in the near future.
Kirsty Laifa, a spokesperson for comparison site aferry.co.uk, said: "Gone are the days when travellers had to ring around the various ferry companies to find the next available crossing.
"Today's savvy travellers want to use a medium that fits around their lifestyle, and the free Find a Ferry iPhone application meets this need whether travelling for business or pleasure."
People heading from the UK to France have a range of crossings to choose from, including
LD Lines'
ferries from Portsmouth to Le Havre and the
Dover to Calais ferry route, which is served by
P&O and
SeaFrance.
