As the UK's two busiest airports gradually resume limited flights having been completely closed until 07:00 BST today (Monday), flights remain grounded in Northern Ireland, Scotland and much of Wales, and restrictions are likely to remain in place in parts of the country until sometime on Tuesday. Manchester, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool, Birmingham and East Midlands airports have no re-opened after restrictions in these areas were lifted.
With the disruption causing flight cancellations over the Irish Sea since Saturday, many passengers are turning to the ferry companies to provide an alternative method of getting home and to important business meetings. Norfolkline Irish Sea and Stena Line both have regular services from Belfast, which has been hit particularly hard by the disruption, and P&O Ferries offer crossings between Larne, near the Northern Irish capital and ports on the west coast of Scotland.
For those seeking to make alternative travel arrangements, aferry.co.uk can offer excellent availability on all routes from UK ports, along with secure booking and instant email notification.
