Winter travellers planning ski holidays in France will be happy to hear that a number of Alpine resorts were blanketed in a new layer of snow over the weekend.
The Ski Club of Great Britain reported that up to a metre of snow fell in some areas of the Alps over the weekend, enabling more resorts to open ahead of schedule.
Cold temperatures have been forecast this week, meaning that the powder should remain intact for skiers to enjoy.
Resorts in Austria were among those to report the heaviest snowfall over the weekend, although the French Alps also saw plenty of snow and it was still coming down today (November 24th).
Tignes, one of the most popular resorts for ski holidays in France, has seen its snow level rise from 70cm to 130cm over five days, although the turbulent weather means that only the funicular is currently open.
Les Deux Alpes and Val d'Isere are both expected to open to visitors before the end of the month.
