People embarking on ski holidays in France over the coming weeks will be met by the best snow conditions in a generation, according to reports.
The coming fortnight is set to be one of the busiest periods for the ski holiday market, with some 400,000 British people set to head for resorts in the Alps.
Heavy snowstorms hit parts of south-east France, with Val d'Isere among the most affected destinations, causing some parts of the town to be temporarily closed to pedestrians, the Telegraph reports.
Val d'Isere and its neighbouring resort of Tignes could break all previous December snowfall records by the end of the month, having already seen more snow this month than in any year since 1981.
Both of these resorts are part of the Espace Killy ski area, which comprises some 300km of pistes and two terrain parks.
People taking ski holidays in France can also head to major regions such as Les Trois Vallees, which includes Meribel and Courchevel, or Paradiski, which encompasses Les Arcs and La Plagne.
