The
Seafrance strike action that took place in France this week may have disrupted services, but passengers have been reassured that other crossings on the Dover Calais route have been unaffected.
On Tuesday (October 25th 2011), all Dover Calais crossings had to be cancelled as workers in France went on strike.
However,
P&O Ferries and
DFDS Seaways ferry crossings were still operating as normal, meaning passengers could make alternative arrangements.
DFDS Seaways recently offered a few ideas for places its passengers can take the kids, including the Parc Asterix and Plopsaland De Panne theme parks, which have nearly 70 rides and attractions between them.
Alternatively, grown-ups travelling away together might like to take the ferry on a journey to Lille, which is homes to the largest outdoor market north of Paris.
"A relaxing journey on board is the perfect way to start your break and the freedom of taking your own car, means you will have the ultimate flexibility to visit some amazing places in the vicinity," said Chris Newey, passenger director at DFDS Seaways.
