Amsterdam 'a memorable Valentine's Day break' |  | | | 22 October 2008 | People already looking forward to Valentine's Day 2009 and considering a romantic break for the occasion should look at the option of a mini-cruise to Amsterdam, according to DFDS Seaways.
The ferry operator states that a romantic break "truly starts" the moment a couple steps on board one of its ships.
After checking in to their cabin, passengers can head off to explore the ferry's shops and entertainment options before settling down for an evening meal in one of the ship's a la carte restaurants.
When they reach Amsterdam, holidaymakers can choose from a variety of romantic excursions, including leisurely strolls along cobbled streets or boat trips on one of the city's famous canals.
The Dutch capital also boasts plenty of shops where visitors can pick up some Valentine's Day gifts for their partners.
DFDS Seaways offers daily ferry crossings from Newcastle to Amsterdam, with departures from Newcastle at 17:00 and a journey time of 15 hours. |
