Amsterdam museum presents 125 favourites |  | | | 24 October 2008 | Art lovers who have ferry crossings to Amsterdam planned in the near future should be sure to pay a visit to the city's Van Gogh Museum.
Until January 18th 2009, this art institution will host the exhibition 125 Favourites, which is being presented to celebrate 125 years of the Rembrandt Association.
More than 30 Dutch museums have collaborated to stage this one-off exhibition, which showcases a selection of the best works of art that the Rembrandt Association has helped to acquire.
The display comprises five sections, each of which will focus on a particular theme, period or style of art.
Visitors will be able to see pieces by some of the most famous artists in history, including Rembrandt, Goya, Chagall, Matisse and Manet.
Ferry crossings to Amsterdam are available with DFDS Seaways, which sails from Newcastle to the port of IJmuiden on a daily basis.
Alternatively, passengers can travel from Hull to Rotterdam with P&O Ferries or from Harwich to Hook of Holland with Stena Line. |
