Modern art enthusiasts might be interested in taking ferries to Scotland this year to visit Glasgow when the city hosts the International Festival of Visual Art.
Described by organisers as a "stimulating two-week burst of exhibitions across the city", the cultural celebration is set to get underway on April 16th and will run until May 3rd.
People based in Northern Ireland can get to Glasgow by taking ferries to Stranraer from Belfast with
Stena Line and driving north, while
P&O Ferries offers a Larne to Troon ferry service during the summer months.
Several exhibitions will be launched as part of the International Festival of Visual Art this year, including a display celebrating Joseph Beuys which will open at the Hunterian Gallery on March 31st and run until September.
The show will include a selection of pieces by Beuys from the Artist Rooms collection, as well as a portrait of him by Andy Warhol.
Visitors can also head to venues such as the Glasgow School of Art and the Market Gallery to see work by Alice Channer, Myrto Stampoulou and others.
P&O Ferries' Larne to Cairnryan ferry link is another option for travellers heading to Scotland this year, while
Norfolkline offers ferries to Rosyth from Zeebrugge in Belgium.
