Balearia inaugurates its new daily Barcelona-Palma route
Balearia inaugurates its new daily Barcelona-Palma route in January
Balearia will start operating the Barcelona-Palma route in the first half of January. To do so, the shipping company has added a superferry to its fleet with a capacity of 2,000 linear metres of ro-ro cargo and vehicles, and of nearly 400 passengers.
The ferry will make daily return trips from Barcelona to Palma, departing from Barcelona at 11:15 p.m. v and from Palma at 12:30 p.m. The superferry, which has a service velocity of 24 knots, will cover the crossing in just a little over six hours.
The new vessel (former Dawn Merchant from Norse Irish Merchant Ferries), which has been named Pau Casals was recently constructed and is 180 metres long. It has both cabins and seats for passengers, in addition to all types of conveniences and services on board. Balearia also plans to construct two new high capacity superferrys.
Balearia's new sea transport offers provide a resolute and reliable alternative for traffic from Barcelona to Palma, for which there is a significant demand of quality maritime services at competitive prices.
With its new route, Balearia completes its offer of integral sea transport to and within the Balearic Islands, being the only company which operates in the four Balearic Islands throughout the entire year.
The company has routes from Barcelona to Minorca, Majorca and Ibiza, and from Denia to Formentera, Ibiza and Majorca, in addition to covering services between the four islands.
