Belfast goes continental for Christmas | | | | 20 November 2008 | People planning ferry trips to Belfast this Christmas will see that it is possible to have a continental experience without travelling to Europe as the city hosts a themed festive fair.
The Continental Christmas Market is now open at Belfast City Hall and will be welcoming visitors until December 20th.
This event, which will be open until 8pm from Mondays to Wednesdays and until 10pm on Thursdays to Saturdays, has become a hugely popular part of Belfast's festive celebrations.
Dozens of stalls are set up at City Hall, selling art, crafts, food, decorations and plenty more to interest people looking for unique Christmas gifts.
Another popular Christmas tradition in Belfast, like any other city, is the pantomime.
This year, Mother Goose will be showing at the Grand Opera House from late November until mid January, starring resident pantomime dame May McFettridge in the title role as well as a top supporting cast.
Ferry crossings to Belfast are provided by Norfolkline from Liverpool and by Stena Line from Stranraer. |
