Belgium's proximity to the UK and the ease with which tourists can travel to the country make it a popular getaway, according to ABTA - The Travel Association.
A spokeswoman for the group said there are several cities in Belgium which provide major attractions for the UK market.
For example, there's Bruges with its waterways and medieval buildings, Gent with its Gothic architecture and Brussels with its famous landmarks and art galleries.
"The gastronomy and the food, plus the beautiful old city of Gent are quite a big attraction," the representative insisted.
"In Bruges there is the Basilica of the Holy Blood."
She said Christmas is always a popular time for visitors to Belgium, as the country hosts several traditional festive markets.
