Ferries to Belgium could prove popular with travellers looking for affordable breaks this year, with the national tourist board saying that the country has "something for everyone", regardless of their budget.
In Bruges, visitors under the age of 26 can pay just 1 (85p) to visit attractions such as the Groeninge Museum, the Arentshuis art gallery and the Bruges Museum. The city also boasts plenty of historic buildings and canals to see.
Travellers interested in visiting Bruges can catch ferries to Zeebrugge from Rosyth with
Norfolkline or use P&O Ferries' Hull to Zeebrugge ferry service.
Those planning to head to Brussels will find more than 1,800 restaurants in the city that offer countless affordable dining options, with many establishments providing a three-course meal for as little as £20.
Brussels also offers plenty of opportunities for a holiday treat at the Michelin-starred restaurant Sea Grill or the exclusive Aspria Avenue Louise spa.
TransEuropa Ferries operates a Ramsgate to Ostend ferry service that offers quick and easy access to Belgium, while Eurostar provides a direct rail link between London and Brussels.
