Biggest quake since 1984 hits Britain
Last night's earthquake was the strongest recorded in Britain in the last 25 years.
The earthquake magnitude was 5.2 on the Richter Scale, the epicenter was near Market Rasen, Lincolnshire and it hit just before 1am this morning, 27 February 2008.
Luckily it has just left damages and only one person injured.
Emergency services received more thousands of telephone calls from people woken up because their homes were shaking.
The earthquake was also lightly felt in the UK ferry ports of Newcastle, Heysham, Fleetwood, Liverpool, Hull and Portsmouth. Websites of these and other ferry ports across UK did not report any damage nor consequent disruptions in their normal services.
