One of the world's best-known political thinkers has been lined up to speak at this year's Belfast Festival.
Fans can take a Liverpool Birkenhead to Belfast Ferry so as to travel to the event with a minimal carbon footprint.
According to the organisers of the annual arts celebration, Noam Chomsky's upcoming talk looks set to be the "fastest selling speaker event in the festival's history", with demand for tickets likely to be boosted by the fact that the academic rarely speaks in the UK.
Chomsky will deliver a lecture on behalf of the human rights campaigning group Amnesty International on October 30th, with much of his speech likely to be based on his upcoming book which explores the potential of grassroots activism.
Welcoming the news, Amnesty International Northern Ireland director Patrick Corrigan suggested that the talk will allow those people taking a ferry crossing to Belfast to gain a wider appreciation of human rights campaigning while also enjoying the usual festival entertainment such as live music and dancing.
News of the star turn for the Belfast Festival comes soon after around 500,000 people turned out for the city's Tall Ships Festival, which saw 40 vessels dock in the city.
