Ferries to Amsterdam could prove a popular travel option among art enthusiasts next month, with a major event set to be held in the Dutch capital.
The 26th edition of Art Amsterdam will take place at the RAI Exhibition Centre from May 26th to 30th.
Around 129 leading galleries from the Netherlands and various other countries across Europe and Asia will take part in the event, showcasing work by a wide range of contemporary artists.
People who would like to see some of the pieces on display can take
ferries from Newcastle to Amsterdam with
DFDS Seaways.
The exhibits will include photographs, paintings, video pieces, sculptures, drawings and installations.
In an addition to the programme this year, the No Holds Barred section will feature a selection of large-scale presentations.
Visitors will also be able to attend lectures, debates and workshops, or take part in guided tours offering an insight into the art world.
Travellers heading to The Netherlands this year also have the option of taking
ferries from Harwich to Hook of Holland with
Stena Line or using
P&O Ferries' Hull to Rotterdam ferry service.
