Ferries to Plymouth will prove popular over the coming months as the second half of the 2009 Plymouth Summer Festival gets underway.
Brittany Ferries is the biggest operator based in south-west England, providing ferries to Roscoff in France and Santander in Spain from Plymouth.
Travellers who visit the coastal city during their ferry breaks will be able to attend events including the Summer Festival Golden Week, which will run from August 11th to 17th and include fireworks displays, boat races and more.
Food lovers will be heading to the city centre from August 14th to 16th to experience the highly popular Plymouth Flavour Fest.
David Draffan, managing director of the Plymouth City Centre Company, said: "It's been a fantastic start to this year's Plymouth Summer Festival and with good summer weather forecast and the school holidays approaching, we are now ready to move up a gear with some of the biggest events in what is a summer programme to rival any in the UK.
"With so many events coming together under the Plymouth Summer Festival banner, it means we have a very powerful message that Plymouth is a must-visit destination for people who either live in the region or are visiting here."
In addition to its Plymouth ferry services,
Brittany Ferries sails from Poole to Cherbourg and provides ferries to St Malo and Caen from Portsmouth.
