Cheap ski holidays to France have proved very popular with British snowsports enthusiasts, to the extent that many have opted to live in one resort permanently, a tourist expert has said.
According to the Office de Tourisme de La Tania, there is a large number of English residents, which has built up through tourists visiting over the years.
Brits looking for ski holidays in France are one of the region's main markets, the organisation explained.
Arnaud Favet, charge de promotion for Office de Tourisme de La Tania, said: "Some English locals have been here ten years now and they have pubs, chalets and businesses there."
"La Tania is 20 to 30 per cent cheaper in terms of accommodation, compared to Courchevel and Meribel. They are more luxurious, whereas [La Tania] is more family orientated - but it is also good for nightlife."
Statistics from the Ski Club of Great Britain showed that ski holidays to France prove the most popular with snowsports enthusiasts from the UK, with many taking a
Dover to Calais ferry to reach their resorts.
