Brits offered top reasons to visit Northern Ireland |  | | | 19 September 2008 | Bushmills Irish Whiskey has compiled a list of the top reasons for people to hop on cheap ferries and enjoy a break in Northern Ireland.
Top of the list is a visit to the company's own whiskey distillery, which is an hour's drive from Belfast. This year celebrating the 400th anniversary of first receiving its licence, the attraction is Ireland's oldest working distillery.
There are also a number of entertainment events on offer to visitors to Northern Ireland over the coming months, including a show by stand-up comedian Lee Evans in Belfast on October 15th.
Two of Britain's biggest bands will also be heading to Belfast this year Oasis will play the Odyssey Arena on October 29th and 30th before Coldplay entertain crowds at the venue on December 18th.
Sport enthusiasts can try out a number of pursuits in Northern Ireland, including golf, with a number of courses located in Portstewart in County Derry, and surfing.
Visitors interested in visiting the area's landmarks can head to the Giant's Causeway, which is Northern Ireland's only world heritage site.
The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company, Norfolkline and StenaLine all offer cheap ferries to Belfast, from the ports of Douglas, Liverpool and Stranraer. |
