British travellers catching ferries to Spain, France and other leading European holiday destinations will find that they are fully catered for during their break owing to the fact that these locations are so well established, according to an industry expert.
Sharron Livingston, editor of the Travel Magazine, pointed out that the falling value of the pound against the euro has made many European destinations more expensive for Brits.
However, hotspots such as Spain and France are expected to remain popular among British travellers as they offer the facilities to guarantee a good holiday.
"Easy-to-access hotspots [in] traditionally popular countries such as Spain and France remain popular despite the strong euro because links are good and the British market is well catered for," Ms Livingston said.
People interested in visiting Spain can catch ferries to Bilbao from Portsmouth with P&O Ferries or travel on the Santander ferry route served by
Brittany Ferries from Portsmouth and Plymouth.
For those planning a trip to France, both P&O Ferries and
Seafrance offer ferries to Calais from Dover and
LD Lines provides a Portsmouth to Le Havre ferry route.
