The Portsmouth to St Malo ferry service operated by
Brittany Ferries has received high praise from travel writer John Graham-Hart.
Writing an article on a camping holiday in France for the Daily Telegraph, the journalist described the crossing to St Malo as "a revelation in itself".
Mr Graham-Hart said that his children were kept entertained by the mini-liner's onboard cinema, watching back-to-back movies while their parents enjoyed an "excellent" dinner for £45.
The writer was embarking on a journey to a four-star campsite located in the grounds of L'Orangerie de Lanniron, a chateau on the banks of the Odet river.
Travellers planning to visit Brittany this year were given a number of recommendations for locations to visit, including Sainte-Anne-la-Palud on the coast and the town of Quimper.
Brittany Ferries offers daily crossings on its Portsmouth to St Malo ferry route, with departures from the UK at 20:30.
The company also offers ferries to Cherbourg from Poole and to Roscoff from Plymouth and Cork.
