Brittany Ferries has announced an expansion of its cross-Channel freight service from Autumn this year.
It will introduce a new purpose-built freighter, the MV Cotentin, to replace its current vessel the MV Coutances.
The Cotentin will be able to carry 120 accompanied artics, compared to the Coutances' capacity of 40 trucks. The new vessel also has a higher top speed and will cut crossing times.
Currently
Brittany Ferries has not announced which route the ship will run on, other than its destination will be Cherbourg.
