Brittany Ferries flagship to sail to Portsmouth | | | | 07 October 2008 | Brittany Ferries' luxury flagship, Pont Aven, will sail into Portsmouth this autumn to commence a series of ferry crossings from the English port to St Malo in northern France.
Pont Aven, which will offer services from Portsmouth to St Malo from November 10th until February 2009, has been designed to provide facilities and amenities usually found on large cruise ships.
Guests will be able to enjoy live entertainment, visit cinemas, relax on a pool deck, explore a shopping mall and take advantage of many other provisions.
Pont Aven will operate a schedule including a departure from Portsmouth on Friday night at 20:30 that will arrive in St Malo at 08:15 on Saturday morning, giving passengers the entire day to explore the Brittany city.
St Malo is a picturesque port destination that boasts attractions including a castle, part of which is now the town museum, the tomb of the writer Chateaubriand and the Solidor Tower in Saint-Servan.
Pont Aven will act as a 'floating hotel' for passengers, allowing them to leave their luggage onboard while they explore St Malo and offering early boarding from 19:00 ahead of the 22:00 return journey to Portsmouth.
Passengers can book ferry crossings on the ship from as little as £25 per person for people without cars, or £116 for two people with a car staying in a two-berth en-suite cabin. |
