Brittany Ferries has taken part in a number of activities over the past few months to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
One of the biggest events was the World's Biggest Coffee Morning initiative in September, which raised over £1,000 after more than 1,300 cups of tea and coffee were sold, the Portsmouth News reports.
Staff and crew with
Brittany Ferries also took part in a golf day on October 16th, generating an extra £3,000 for the charity.
Commenting on the event, Graham Ruth, a spokesman for the operator, said: "They all had great fun. All in all, £3,000 is not to be sniffed at.
"We will do something next year for another charity too."
From its base in Portsmouth,
Brittany Ferries operates ferries to St Malo, Caen and Cherbourg in France and Santander in Spain.
The company also offers Santander and Roscoff ferry services from Plymouth in south-west England.
Brittany Ferries is not the only ferry operator that is doing its bit for charity this year, with
DFDS Seaways giving away mini-cruises on its Newcastle to Amsterdam ferry route for people who donate money to Children North East.
