Brittany Ferries has announced that wireless internet access is now available on its cruise ferries to France and Spain from the UK.
Passengers with Wi-Fi-enabled computers can use the service to contact friends or family at home or to catch up with some work if they are travelling for business purposes.
Network access time can be purchased at information desks onboard
Brittany Ferries' ships.
David Longden, managing director of the ferry company, said: "
Brittany Ferries has an ongoing commitment to providing top-quality services for its passengers and we are constantly seeking new ways to meet their needs.
"This is a valuable new service, allowing them to do business, send emails and surf the web even when in the middle of the Channel or Bay of Biscay."
Brittany Ferries' vessels also have mobile telephone networks that allow passengers to make and receive calls during their journeys.
The operator provides ferries to Santander in Spain from Plymouth and Portsmouth. Its cross channel services include ferries to St Malo from Portsmouth and a Poole to Roscoff ferry route.
