Brittany Ferries offering discount cycle hire

Travellers catching ferries to St Malo with Brittany Ferries can now take advantage of a special offer on bicycle hire.

The operator announced that it had teamed up with two leading cycle hire companies in St Malo to provide a ten per cent discount for its customers.

St Malo is an ideal destination for a cycling break, according to Brittany Ferries, with plenty of open roads, seafront stretches and rural trails to explore.

There are also several towns and villages that can be visited by bike, including medieval Dinan and the popular resort of Dinard.

Visitors who make use of the special offer will be given a list of itineraries when they pick up their bicycle.

Christiane Barker of Brittany Ferries said: "The roads in France are much quieter than at home, making cycling a real pleasure."

The operator provides direct ferries to St Malo from Portsmouth. People planning to visit France can also catch ferries to Cherbourg from Poole or sail from Plymouth to Roscoff with Brittany Ferries.
