Brittany Ferries 'second best cross-Channel operator' | | | | 28 November 2008 | The Daily Telegraph has announced the winners of its 2008 Travel Awards, with Brittany Ferries named one of the UK's leading providers of cross-Channel services.
Brittany Ferries was the sole ferry operator in the top three, with Eurostar voted into first place and Eurotunnel ranked third in the category.
With regular services from ports including Portsmouth and Plymouth to destinations such as St Malo and Caen, Brittany Ferries is one of the leading providers of ferry crossings to north-west France.
Next year, passengers can look forward to sailing on Armorique, the operator's brand new ferry that has been designed specifically for use on the route between Plymouth and Roscoff.
The ship is due to launch in spring 2009 and will have the capacity to carry some 1,500 passengers and 470 cars.
To decide its 2008 award winners, the Telegraph polled more than 25,000 readers, 92 per cent of whom said that the credit crunch will not have any effect on their choice of holiday destination in the future. |
