Zeebrugge ferry services could prove popular among couples celebrating Valentine's Day this year, with Tourism Flanders recently promoting Bruges as one of the region's most romantic destinations.
According to the tourist board, no visit to the city would be complete without a trip to see Minnewater, which is also known as 'lovers' lake'.
Couples can also head to the Choco-Story and Friet Museum attractions for an insight into the city's famous foods, or absorb some culture at the Groeninge Museum.
Ferries to Zeebrugge are provided by
Norfolkline from Rosyth and by P&O Ferries from Hull.
Tourism Flanders recommended some other Belgian cities for loved-up couples, including Antwerp, which is home to romantic attractions including a cobbled market square and the Diamond Quarter.
In Ghent, visitors can go for a walk past the historic guild houses and alongside the winding canals in the Patershol area.
Another travel option for people planning a trip to Belgium this year is the Ramsgate to Ostend ferry route, which is served by
TransEuropa Ferries.
