Brussels tourism card 'goes festive'

Holidaymakers planning festive ferry trips to Brussels this year will be able to take advantage of a number of special offers and discounts in the city.

The Belgian Tourist Office announced that the Brussels Card will offer a number of extra bonuses such as a 25 per cent discount on Winter Wonders-branded souvenirs from the city's Christmas market.

Visitors will also be able to pay half price for adult admission to the skating rink and receive a free hot drink at the Winter Wonders organic brasserie when buying another beverage.

These benefits will be available in addition to the Brussels Card's usual provisions, such as admission to 26 museums around the city and unrestricted use of public transport.

Card prices start from €18 (£15) for 24 hours and the Christmas benefits will be available during the Winter Wonders market period from November 28th to December 28th.

Holidaymakers can catch ferries to Ostend in Belgium with TransEuropa Ferries or alternatively sail to Zeebrugge with P&O Ferries.
