Calais wine fair to begin this month

People who like nothing more than a glass of wine in the evening will be looking forward to hopping on cross-Channel ferries this month to visit a major wine fair in Calais.

The Auchan hypermarket will hold its autumn fair from September 17th to October 4th.

Visitors will be able to sample more than 400 different wines for free before buying, including creations by vintage names and new wine producers.

Auchan's Calais branch also sells various French foodstuffs, including vegetables, cheeses and desserts, meaning visitors will have plenty of opportunities to stock up before Christmas.

People visiting Calais from the UK will also be given the option to pay for their purchases in either sterling or euro currencies if they are using a Visa card or Mastercard.

Brits interested in finding some bargains at the Auchan autumn fair can catch a Calais ferry from Dover with P&O Ferries or SeaFrance, drive through the Eurotunnel from Folkestone or travel by Eurostar.
