Catch Dublin ferries for St Patrick's Day

Ireland will turn into a hive of activity and excitement at the beginning of March as it prepares to celebrate St Patrick's Day and Dublin ferries could prove a popular option among people planning to join in with the fun.

St Patrick's Day will be celebrated on March 17th this year, with festivities getting underway in Dublin on March 12th and leading up to a memorable parade on the day itself.

The city will be painted green by thousands of Irish people and foreign visitors, who will be able to enjoy street theatre, Irish music, comedy, Irish language events and family shows.

With performance troupes, giant puppets, dancers, marching bands and much more, Dublin's St Patrick's Day parade is one of the most famous in the world and will undoubtedly be the highlight of the five-day celebrations.

Other popular events include Skyfest, a show combining fireworks, pyrotechnics, lighting and music and the Big Day Out, which will turn Merrion Square into a giant playground for children and adults alike.

Those who would like to be part of St Patrick's Day this year can catch Dublin ferries from Liverpool with Norfolkline or P&O Ferries, or sail from Holyhead with Stena Line or Irish Ferries.
