Catch a Belfast ferry to see The Nutcracker | | | | 02 December 2008 | People with a fondness for that most festive of fairytales, The Nutcracker, may want to catch a Belfast ferry this month to see an inventive interpretation of the story.
The W5 centre at Belfast's Odyssey project will present a giant pop-up storybook version of The Nutcracker from December 5th until January 4th.
This illustrated world of magical locations and strange characters has been designed to entertain children and adults alike over the holiday season.
Originally conceived as The Nutcracker and the Mouse King by ETA Hoffmann, this tale has grown into a festive favourite, largely due to the ballet version of the story created by Tchaikovsky.
Christmas visitors eager to see the new interpretation of The Nutcracker can catch Belfast ferry crossings from Stranraer, Liverpool or Douglas, provided by Stena Line, Norfolkline and the Steam Packet Company respectively.
There is plenty of festive entertainment for people to enjoy in the Irish city, including a continental market at City Hall. |
