Art lovers may be interested in taking cross-Channel ferries to pay a visit to Paris over the coming months for an exhibition featuring some of the most famous names in modern culture.
Until February 22nd, the Musee du Luxembourg in Paris will present a showcase of pieces from the collection of Portuguese entrepreneur Jose Berardo, who is thought to own one of the finest archives of modern art in Europe.
The Berardo collection consists of some 862 works in total, 70 of which will be on display at the Musee du Luxembourg exhibition.
Some of the leading representatives of modern art movements such as surrealism and pop art feature in the showcase, including Salvador Dali, Andy Warhol, Max Ernst and Julian Schnabel.
The Musee du Luxembourg is one of the many art institutions that visitors to Paris may want to see on their trip, along with the Pompidou Centre, the Musee d'Orsay and the Louvre.
Cross-channel ferries are provided by operators including Seafrance, Norfolkline and LD Lines, which sail to Calais, Le Havre and other ports that are a short drive away from Paris.
