Art enthusiasts will be setting off on cross channel ferry trips this summer to see Estuaire, which is described by the Pays de la Loire tourist board as "one of the world's largest art shows".
Set to run from June 6th to August 16th, the exhibition will see pieces of art displayed along a 25-mile stretch of the Loire river between Nantes and St Nazaire.
Estuaire was launched in 2007 with 40 artworks installed alongside, on and even in the river, including a 25-metre-tall duck and a house that seemed to float on water.
Some of the pieces that were unveiled two years ago are still open for people on ferry breaks to see, including a set of giant rings in Nantes that light up at night and appear to move across the water.
This year, the range of projects will include a massive submarine base in St Nazaire and a number of other works by artists from around the globe.
Travellers planning to see Estuaire this year can choose from cross channel ferry services including the
Brittany Ferries route from Portsmouth to St Malo and the LD Lines ferry crossing from Portsmouth to Le Havre.
