Catch some La Liga action on ferry breaks in Spain

Sports fans planning to catch ferries from Portsmouth to Bilbao or from Plymouth to Santander for spring breaks this year will be able to see two Primera Liga football sides in action.

As the 2008-09 La Liga season approaches its conclusion in April and May, Racing Santander and Athletic Bilbao will face some of their biggest games of the season.

Home fixtures for Racing include a match against fifth-placed Atletico Madrid on April 22nd and relegation-threatened Almeria on May 3rd.

Athletic Bilbao will take on Deportivo la Coruna at home on April 19th, followed by Real Betis on May 10th and Atletico Madrid on May 24th.

Travellers planning to catch ferries to Bilbao later this month could get the chance to see a local derby when Racing Santander come to Athletic Bilbao's San Mames stadium on April 26th.

Ferries to Santander are available from both Plymouth and Portsmouth with Brittany Ferries, while P&O Ferries provides a Portsmouth to Bilbao ferry service.
